Virtual Reality Is The Future!

Without a doubt, Covid-19 has upended our lives. So many sources of entertainment that we used to take for granted are either unavailable or simply too unsafe to enjoy right now. Places like restaurants, bars, stadiums, and movie theatres have strict occupancy limits. Traveling, especially internationally, is not possible because many countries have closed their borders to travelers. Although many of us have turned to streaming services or video games to stay entertained, being cooped up in your house gets old and boring after a while. It turns out there really is a limit on how many times you can watch “The Office”. So, what else can we do for fun? It turns out that virtual reality (VR) is a great way to have fun in a safe, clean environment. VR offers entertainment and immersive adventures that are beyond the reach of traditional television and video games. The purpose of this post is to provide a bit more information past our virtual reality FAQ’s, enjoy!

There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.

Is Virtual Reality Safe?

Virtual reality has been in the spotlight during the pandemic because many people have turned to it as a way to safely spend time and have fun with friends and family. In fact, the social VR app, VRChat has been setting new records for simultaneous users throughout the pandemic. Using virtual reality to spend time with friends and family is not only entertaining, but it is also incredibly safe during the pandemic. Through VR, users are able to limit their exposure to Covid-19 by avoiding in person contact with others. Even if multiple people share the same headset, it can easily be cleaned and sanitized between users.VR promotes safety in other ways too. It gives everyone a way to safely explore the world virtually. From the safety and comfort of your hometown, you can explore national parks, like Alaska’s Kenai Fjords National Park. In fact, a virtual tour guide will walk you through the park and describe the world around you. Google Arts and Culture offers a wide array of VR experiences to enjoy. Or, if island living is more your style, enjoy a 30-minute escape to Aruba. The point is that you get to stay safe and clean no matter where you virtually go in the world.

The Future of Entertainment

Virtual reality is the future of entertainment in the same way that video games once were. For decades, video games have allowed us to have interactive entertainment through our TVs or computers. No longer limited to merely watching what happened on the screen, we could interact with characters and manipulate objects on the TV screen. Virtual reality is the logical next step. VR simply creates more possibilities and a more immersive experience than is possible on a TV screen or computer monitor. Thanks to VR, you really feel like you are on an adventure in Alaska or on quest to save the world. You can even play capture the flag or other games with or against your friends and family, no matter how far away they are.
